Today, I drove from my hostel in Port Angeles, WA to a motel in Cascade Locks, OR, located near the Columbia River Gorge. I departed Port Angeles around 8:00am. My first stop was Mount Rainier National Park, where I arrived at noon. I toured the park, stopping at some of the scenic overpoints as well as for lunch in the cafeteria at the Visitor's Center, for a few hours. I've included some pictures below:
After seeing Mt. Rainier, I headed through the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and crossed the Columbia River at the Bridge of the Gods, which crosses at Cascade Locks, OR/Stevenson, WA, which is in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge area. Upon arrival, I was struck by how pretty the area is.
Tomorrow, I have a long day. I'm headed to Klamath Falls, stopping at Mt. Hood and Crater Lake National Park on the way.
